Indian Council of Medical Research recommends that:
Babies, from 6 months onwards to one year old, who are being breastfed should be given a daily supplement containing 400 IU of Vitamin D to make sure they get enough. This is whether or not you are (the breastfeeding mother) taking a supplement containing Vitamin D yourself.
Children from one to 4 years should be given a daily supplement containing 600 IU of vitamin D.
Children aged 6 months to 5 years are given vitamin supplements containing Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin D every day.
